Aloha, Pretty Little Hawaii!

Put down that Mai Tai, you've got stitching to do!

When I got married in 2013, it was barefoot on the beach in Kauai. It was so idyllic that we actually had sea turtles that swam up to the shore and watched our ceremony. Ever since then, Hawaii has held a special place in my heart, so I've always known I would design a pattern for it someday.

When I visited the Big Island a few years ago, we stayed in the tiny town of Volcano, and loved visiting the crater at night to see the lava glow filling the night sky. Just as I was starting this design, the Kilauea volcano started doing some very scary stuff, and in the last few weeks hundreds of people have lost their homes. So I decided to make this pattern a fundraiser, and for all of 2018 I'll be donating 15% of the profits from this pattern to the Hawaii Community Foundation, which has set up a fund to help those affected by the eruptions.

This "city" pattern is filled with the colors and details of all the Hawaiian islands, from the famous landmarks of Honolulu, the beautiful geography of Maui and Kauai, and the historic national parks of the Big Island. Oh, and a couple of friendly pink whales for good measure.

You can find Pretty Little Hawaii on Etsy here, and at our lovely retailers in the coming weeks!
